I too like your double doors, easy access!  And Looks like you're going to get her done this year. I can relate to that.

It's looking good. Keep up the motivation.

Loving this build.  Will be watching as you finish it.

Back at it some more. Picked up the 6x10x1/4 steel plate for $442.00. Not bad. I thought it was going to be around 550 to 600. Cut all the pieces and already screwed up. I forgot to take in consideration for the thickness of the plate so I will have to cut 1/2" off of the plates on 2 sides to make the box a true 28x24. At least I have to much than not enough...lol

Dillon supply in Raleigh. I buy most of my steel here. They have everything but you have to buy it whole. No pieces. The hoist operator loading the plate. They use this wireless controller to move the hoist and beam which rides on this track. you can see the track on the right side wall. These guys are pros

Got the steel plate to the house. Took me and my son and some vise grips to pull it off the trailer and onto some yard timbers. Its heavy!

Cut the steel using my Milwaukee metal circular saw. Its awesome! Pieces on the left are the fire box. Pieces on the right are the RF plate and an extra  The ladder was my straight edge...lol

Thanks for looking

A 16th.....? Are you insulting me saying I do shotty work!!!!! A 64th at the most ......maybe...........lol

Damn, I can MIG up a 1/8" gap without my glasses on and think nothing of it! Measure with micrometer, mark with Sharpie, cut with plasma, and still have to weld up a gap...

Lookin' good..... took more than 10 minutes to weld that up..... probably a six pack or three...

Got to it some more yesterday. Finished the box, cut the door out and installed the hinges. Need some more matirials and make the dampers. Does anyone know what size dampers the lang have. I assume they are 7 inch dampers. Round

inching closer.... The plan is to have the firebox mounted to the smoker this weekend. Picked up the matirials for the fire box door band and the 1/2 inch angle for the side dampers. Cut 6, 3 inch holes with a hole saw.... Bout broke my wrist a few times. Had to move up to a 1/2 HP BFD to get the job done. Took about 2 hrs to drill 6 holes. Now to drill 6 more in the damper plate In the drill press...

Will be back on it friday

Thanks for looking
