Smoke Blower
I just purchased 2 sheets of 1/4 x 5-0 x 10-0 hot rolled smooth plate from Dubose Steel in Roseboro NC not far from Raliegh for $180.00 per sheet they also shear for $10.00 per 100 weight
For mine...(NOTE: I err on the side of caution with propane tanks, so may be overboard but I'm still here to type this. LOL) I dumped a bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid in the tank (250 gallon) and filled it with water, letting it overflow for about 5 to 10 minutes. The next day, I drained it, and filled it once again with some more water and dawn...along with a degreaser. That sat for two days, then I dumped it, and refilled it once more with a little salt....about half a box. I let that water sit overnight, and kept it in the tank as I made the first cut.
Looks like your off to a good start, one question, what did you do to the tank to get it safe to cut into?with it being a propane tank,i found one also about the original size of yours im thinking about getting, its free,i just have to move it,thanks danny
I hear you on that,it just worries me ,cutting on a tank that could possibly be my last, lol but I guess you can never be too cautious, thanks for the info,i feel another build coming on soon! danny

Again...it may be more than what's necessary...but there's no coming back from a mistake of that magnitude. Lol.
Me too...that's why better safe than sorry. Also...Hello from another MS!!! Hope to see you out there smokin' soon!!!

Hey Danny. The tank was open to atmosphere for a long time. I added water through the threaded holes in the tank and rinsed it out be for cutting. you can never be too careful. If the tank was recently used I would have done what the others have said...........

These hinges are nice and heavy duty and will make the doors look great........ i also picked up some chipping hammers to use as door handle... They were on sale at harbor freight for 3.99 each....... Was going to try out the circular saw shoneyboy (Mike) mensioned earlier to cut out the doors but HF is currently out of stock.... For 59 bucks if it dont work I'll just return it...
