Never did one. Planned on brisket for thr 4th but went with the tenderloins butt on impulse .

Tips? Want to do it on the Weber.

I’d get a nice sear all around then off direct heat to get to temp. It’s the butt portion but still tenderloin. You could also do it like steak bites depending on who you’re feeding.

It's the largest end of the tenderloin right ? Does it still have the side muscles on it ?

Good choice ✔️

I always call it the large end too. Steak it out, or cook as a small roast. I like indirect with an end sear.

I just knew that from researching how to process when I bought a whole one once . Doesn't always look like the bigest end , because of the side muscle .

I cut steaks from the middle , but did the " head or butt " as a roast . Lower right on the board .
Tail section lower left . Steaks from the middle .

I over shot the temp when I did mine , but it's crazy tender so no issue really .
I used it for sliders .

If you want to use the kettle , I'd use the baskets on each side , or a pile of coals .
Put the roast in the middle . Medium fire , cook around 260 . pull at your desired temp and rest .
