I'm still trying to reduce my freezer population so I may not buy any, but like you I always look around Christmas. I never understood why stuff like this goes on sale at the time when people are most likely to buy it. Seems like a stupid strategy. You would think they would put rib roast on sale in the middle of summer when people arent as likely to want to buy it.I'm impatiently waiting for the prime rib sale this year. Usually always in december and this year I intend to buy enough and get them cut into bone in rib eyes for the year. I'm nervous there won't be a sale this year. Always saw them at Kroger in december
what is "et"? Agree Wegmans beef prices suck.I'm still trying to reduce my freezer population so I may not buy any, but like you I always look around Christmas. Cheapest rib roast I found around here is this.

Rest of their beef prices are still stupid high. That's OK, I vary our diet quite a bit anyway so beef is only a small portion of what we eat regularly.
I have a load of spiral ham slices in the freezer from earlier this year we will have for Christmas eve dinner (our traditional Christmas dinner gathering). They need to be "et" and almost no one hates ham! Less stress too...
People are actively looking for a deal on the big centerpiece items - like turkeys at Thanksgiving - but stores are counting on them also buying all the rest of their (full price) groceries there, too, enough to turn an overall profit. Technical term is "loss leader"I never understood why stuff like this goes on sale at the time when people are most likely to buy it. Seems like a stupid strategy.
The way some people say "eaten"what is "et"?
What Torch&Tone said. My mom used to joke around with words all the time, I grew up with that and listening to Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, George Carlin, etc. . And in the metal shop I worked in years ago, we adopted the sort of silly ways some people say things. Like, we had a guy who couldn't pronounce stuff. He would say things like "Ambalance" and "Pacific" instead of specific. Some of us adopted the silliness and began purposely saying stuff like that...just a running joke or whatever.what is "et"? I completely understand, and I am much the same. What Torch&Tone said. So, my sense of humor is not always understood. I forget that sometimes, and say these purposely misspoken things around people who dont know me well. They all think I'm an idiot, I'm sure! But in fact, my 6th grade English teacher used Reader's Digest's "Towards more picturesque speech" for our spelling and word comprehension tests, so I knew that words like "Gobbledygook" was a real word and what it meant by the age of 12!
On one hand, some people think I actually dont know how to pronounce things, while all my life I've also been derided for "using dem big words" by the people who ACTUALLY cant pronounce stuff![]()

we do not have any of the kroger family of markets although we have a ton of others to choose from.I had not seen or heard of Chef's Store. Unfortunately none of the Virginia locations are where I would find myself passing through. Closest one is about 1-1/2 hours away from me.
They are geared toward restaurants primarily. Most items are sold in large volumes such as 50 lb. bags of rice, flour, potatoes, onions, cabbage, etc. Meats are sold as whole cuts or by the case where there is a little price break. Not always the best price, either. So if it isn't convenient for you, I wouldn't make a special trip to one...I had not seen or heard of Chef's Store.
