As it becomes more and more popular for those that cold smoke and use electric smokers
The rise of the all mighty pellet has gained popualarty . I have several bags of diffrent " wood flavors" and sticking my nose in each bag there is no difference in aroma from wood to wood. I'm starting to wonder if its just a big timid we all ha e been sucked into.??k just my thoughts

It depends on the pellets you purchase. The pellets you get from Todd are 100% wood as advertised. The pellets you get from the big guys contain a lot of alder

I have 6 different types of Pellets from Todd and each is completely different. If you don't have 100% Smoke Wood pellets they are a blend with oak or alder and can, very likely, contain little of the wood they claim contributes flavor...JJ

The "raw" wood smell isn't much different but once they begin to smoke that is when you will see.... err..... smell the difference. The taste that is the result of the smoke is also vastly different. As stated above, the pellets from Todd are the real deal!.
