This has nothing to do with  cooking, but this is an old friend that has been visiting my property for many years now. I remember him when he was a youngster with a bright rust red tail, and now he is like me - in the twilight of life.

Nice picture, are you using a trail cam?

I've always got my phone with me, but

never think to get it out when a good pic comes up.

The foxes here just stop by to grab a chicken

or two now and then, almost never see them though.

We also rarely see fox here, and this guy is the one exception.  Even though we have known each other for years, he still is very shy, and never visits when we are in the yard.  Regular visitors are moose, bear, and of course, deer, which are so plentiful they are real pests.

Last winter I walked out to the mailbox, and noticed extra large cat tracks in the snow, spaced rather far apart, but never did see the cat.

As to camera, I am with you  - almost never have one ready when there is a photo op.  This time I got lucky - the wife screamed "the fox is on the deck!!"  I ran to get my camera and fortunately he slowly strolled down the hill to where I caught this image - he is inside the deer fence, but is easily able to squeeze out.  I'm using a Canon 60D because I'm old school.

This picture was completely luck as I'm hardly ever right on time to catch anything.  Somewhere in my photos I have a picture of him when he was young - I hope I can find it so I can put the two together.
