Hang in there Lance!!
I got an Older Sister living in NC, getting snowed on.
She moved from Rochester, NY to NC, near Charlotte, and two of her daughters also moved from Rochester to Raleigh.

Drivers here are no different than up north. Onondaga County, where Syracuse is, had over 350 accidents on the morning of the first snow of winter of 2016-2017 and Syracuse is the snowiest major metro area in the US. That was right after we had made the decision to make the move to our NC place permanent and we chuckled that it didn't matter if folks had lived with snow all their lives or not. Ron White has it right "You can't fix stupid!". And Bill Engvall would have run out of signs by 6 AM.....

It took a while for the plows to get down our admittedly sparsely populated side road but the county highway department has gotten a lot done in the last few hours and the mail got delivered as I type this so it looks like things are getting back to normal. And I can see the peak of Sauratown Mountain across the road for the first time in a few days.

Well, it's time to go shovel that above knee height plug of wet snow out of the bottom of the driveway. At last I kept a snow shovel and a couple of big grain shovels....

16 inches here in etowah (just south east of Asheville western nc). I have to say that people did great and took warnings. Very few wrecks in our district, large amount of trees and power lines down still from Saturday night. Dot will clear snow and then cut trees. We were out cutting single lanes Saturday and Sunday. Less than 3 hours sleep on couch from 3 to 6 am Sunday between calls with fire department. So grateful for people to follow instructions and help keep everyone safe. So happy that my pallet smoking/ grilling shed hasn't fallen yet. Still praying lol.
