Went last week for some pics and follow up at docs.
All looks good. I asked about those powder drinks with the fruit and veggies. He said dont waste your $$, go buy a juicer.

So I did.

This morning is kale, celery, strawberry, apple and couple jalapeño slices.

If you look at what they put in most of those veggie drinks these days it will shock you…..you might as well just drink a 5 hour energy drink. Many are LOADED with caffeine from the coffee and green tea extracts they put in them……

On the subject of veggie juice...

I made another batch of smoked salsa this past weekend. Recipes have been posted on this board by myself and others. Basically, smoke a bunch of tomatoes, some white and red onion, scallions, jalapeños, a few garlic heads, maybe a hatch chili or two, then chop it all up in a food processor along with some cilantro, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and a bit of sugar and salt, to taste.

This batch was very watery...I'd used more tomatoes than usual, and they were particularly large and ripe. So I dumped the batch into a big colander to drain, and got out nearly a quart of smokey tomato juice infused with onion, pepper, cilantro, and spice flavors. I thought briefly about what to do with it, and figured it might make a good Bloody Mary mix.

So I filled a glass with the juice, a shot of vodka, a bit of hot sauce, and ice. Gave it a good stir with a celery stick.

Voila! The smokey Bloody Mary! Not bad at all.

Good job staying healthy. I'm curious about your juicer. Is it a pain to clean it? Would you say it's cost effective / worth it? And if so what model and such did you get? My wife would be very interested & with my eating habits, wouldn't be a bad thing for me either.

You dont like to chew? I'm like that with salads. Sometimes I feel like livestock, just chewing and chewing!

If one needs to increase calories while reducing fiber, juicing is the way to go...

I have three juicers. Don't ask..............one is still brand new in the box. I would suggest looking around facebook market. Or the like. For a Champion juicer. These are a beast. And can do anything from peanut butter to emulsifying meat for hot dogs. I did a bag of juicer oranges a couple weeks ago. Best OJ I've ever had.

Like I always say, a little booze'll fix that right up.

I have not used mine in a long time, last thing it was used for was pomegranate seeds....made a good pomegranate martini!

Using kale in a juicer recipe is just wrong, they couldn’t give the stuff away because it tastes like chit until somebody said it provided wonderful health benefits. It still tastes like chit and nobody is extending their life span because they eat it, but by golly farmers are now making money from something they couldn’t before.

I used to like kale until I got really sick one time and it changed my taste-buds. Now I cant stand the smell of it cooking and never really did eat it raw. I love kale chips though...go figure...
