Hello, sorry if this is a duplicate but I can't seem to get my AMNPS to stay smoking. I let the pellets dry during the preheating, remove the smoker and hit it with a torch for 45 seconds, let it sit for about 10minutes and put the AMNPS back in the smoker. I position it on the bottom left under the drip tray in a dry area. The vent is fully open and chip loader removed. It seams to smoke for a handful of minutes then quit. I relighting and the same thing happens. This was my 4th attempt. Any ideas?

It is starving for oxygen.  You need to get more air to it.  I'm not a Masterbuilt user, but I'm sure Todd will be right along and can advise you, as well as others too with their tips and tricks!

Face the side the chip loader is on into prevailing wind. You may have it to low a position. Microwave pellets to dry out further. I ran my AMZPS for 12 hours yesterday no problem once it was properly lit.I let it burn with a flame till it goes out then blow on it till it flames again then blow it out then put it in MES.

Sure it not getting drips of moisture on it?

I have started lighting the Pellets not only through the Hole in the AMNPS but from the bottom as well. Seems getting a good " Base " of burning pellets is more successful than just lighting the beginning of the row...JJ

This little mod worked for me. The machine has 3 little holes in these locations, maybe 1/4 inch, Grabbed the uni-bit and enlarged them to about 5/8. I could have gone larger but wanted to keep the functionality of the original smoke chamber. When using the AMPS I pull out the loader about 1/2 an inch providing the extra oxygen, when doing a short hot smoke the normal use of the original tray works without flare up.

Thanks for the insight. I forgot to mention, the water bowl is filled with sand, no liquids Since I just dropped a fair amount of money on the smoker I'd really prefer not to drill any additional holes. I had an old MES 30 analog and that was fine but I"m still keeping this one all shined up. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

I've been having the same issue.  I think I might try doing a little forced draft smoking.  Tape the leads to a computer fan to the battery terminals of a cordless drill then put the fan so it blows in the chip feeder tube.  I'll let you know if that works this weekend.
