It's 6PM, the cook's almost done and you realise you're standing by the smoker warming your hands over the firebox....
:th_crybaby2:

Yeah, that sucks!

I just picked all my stuff up from my smoke and I'm sweating. :yahoo:

I'm sure it'll get cold here soon enough though.

The summer is all over, but the smoking goes on. I smoke 12 months out of the year here in Maine. Gotta have fresh smoked meat.

Oh, I'm not ready to pack it in just yet, but tending an offset at less than 40 degrees just isn't fun for me. Winter's the time for comfort food and a crackling fire (and sausage!).
The way the weather goes, I'm sure there'll be some warmer days to uncover the smoker.[emoji]128521[/emoji]

Same goes for here in Lower Bama, prime BBQ/Smoking season has just begun as we can finally go outside without being in a sauna
Was still bouncing in the 80's last week, but this week is all mid 70's.... Finally cooling off a bit :yahoo:

Time to wade fish for Bull Reds in the surf!

I can't complain about the weather here, so far.

We've had a lot of frosts but nothing really cold yet.

It goes up and down, I was working on a piece of equipment

Tuesday in just a tee shirt and was very comfortable.

Today not so much, had to wear a fairly heavy jacket.

This weather is pretty nuts, but it's OK with me.

I smoke all year, but pick my days in the winter.

Have fun.

Like it cold, I don't like the summer, to me cooking on the pit is perfect when I can see my breath on a chili, crisp fall morning.
The only thing I miss about the summer are my tomatoes and eggplant. I'd rather be shoveling snow than cutting the lawn.
