It's a little after 5 am here in the Willamette valley, woke up to a really weird noise. It's rain!!! Looking forward to all this smoke washing out of the air, hopefully it's doing some real good for all of our western neighbors.

For some reason I just can't seem to get back to sleep, the rain makes me mindful of what a hard and scary summer is been for many of you guys this fire season, and for the people who have lost their lives protecting us from these insane fires. I'm thankful and grateful for people who are so brave and selfless. My prayer is that the change in weather we are experiencing brings relief where it's needed.

Sorry for being all sappy on you guys, maybe it's the sinus pills I took? Lol

With much love
Patti

Patti Dear, that's just about the best thing I could read at 6:45 AM in the morning. Thank you for such a heartfelt and sincere tribute to all the brave women and men fighting nature's fury.

Enjoy the rain.  It will help.

Even though we will probably not get rain down here, I can see it's overcast and much cooler.  Agree that I hope those areas north of us which have been on fire get some tears from the rain angels.

Thank you for the wonderful sentiment! I've been feeling kinda fortunate this summer as we've had an unusually cool and dry one. Usually August in DC is absolutely miserable, but it's barely been out of the 80's and humidity had been low. I makes it easy not to think about those who aren't so fortunate and are literally fighting to save their homes and even their lives. Thanks for the reminder.

My grandma grew up in DC, she said she would walk outside in the summer to help hang clothes and it would take forever for them to dry even though it was super hot.
Hope you have a great day!
