What do some of you all add to your water pans or bowls for flavor, or for function!!

Do you do different things for different meats???

Everyone is different, I use water and some apple juice or even water with some good beer! Smokin a butt right now and I have the pan filled with water and apple juice! Not sure it makes a whole lot of difference but, I usually inject the butts with apple juice and a little spice to give it a good sweet and spicy flavor! You just have to try out different combinations to get what you like. I like to use apple juice for my pork and beer for the briskets but, its all personal pref. Good luck!

I have tried red wine, apple juice, beer, chicken broth, onions, garlic, extra rub...lots of stuff. I don't notice much difference from when I just use water with nothing else in it.

just water & drippings from whatever is cooken thats all ya really need.
if ya spritz the drippings will add a little oder to the smoke

I have tried liqueds, didn't do much for my smokes so like many others I just use sand now days-helps keep temps stable.

I'm like Meatballs and have tried many things in my water pan from water, beer, apple juice, the water from soaking wood, even real apples and then added stuff to the mixture like onions, spices, rub, and anything that go my fancy too. Then I have figure it is all for nil so I have gone back to simple Water.

Tried everything like the others. Sometimes I would cut a whole head of garlic in half and put it in the pan with water. Don't think it did much, but it was great to smell....

Just water for me too although I've tried some other things like beer but I didn't really notice any difference and decided I'd rather drink it!

I still do put in several fresh sprigs of rosemary when I'm doing turkey. I don't know if it helps the flavor, but wow, the smell that comes out from it mixed with the meat smells are fantastic I think.

YEAH, me too. I've almost made a potpourri with spices before, but only when I do pork loins or turkey.

I was just curious if anyone found anything that 'made the grade'... I guess not.

just water for a heat sink....not sure if it puts much humidity in the air.
