So the 590 has vents out the back and 700 has a stack...any difference in how they smoke?

Point A to B, they will all make basically the same food. The path between the two points vary grill to grill. Your time and mileage will master any grill you commit to.
My Trag made great food. My Rec Tec makes virtually the same, but is way less frustrating doing it.

I don't notice any difference in smoke flavor. I had a Trager with the traditional stack before.
I may get the vent covers for my 590 to bling it out.

Hi All I'm looking to buy my 1st Pellet grill.. I need your thoughts on either of these 2 Pellet Grills, or any other ones I should look at? I would like to buy at Home Depot or Lowe's if possible for easy return if I have too.

It's not even a close call between those options. Rec Tec makes a higher quality product and the OKJ unit has a big hotspot because of the sear slider right in the middle.

I don't have either one but did some looking yesterday because of all the recent posts about them. I saw the 590 at $899 and the 700 at $1199. So only $300 difference. Also 590 with 4 yr warranty and 700 with 6 yr warranty.

Hi Ryan You are right on $1199 for the 700. $1500 was for bundle on Amazon. Cover & 200lbs of pellets.

I've heard horrible things about the OK Joe pellet grill. Definitely look elsewhere. RecTec has a huge following in this forum, but I'm a big fan of the Grilla Silverbac. Despite the word on the street, Traeger also makes a decent pellet grill, but for the money other brands are a bit better and more feature rich.

Grilla, RecTec, GMG. You can get more features per dollar spent. With Traeger you're paying for a name and availability. Traeger makes a good grill, but you can get a better grill for the same amount of money if you look at other brands.

I don't have a dog in this fight but I think if that's your decision you'll be pretty darned happy with no regrets, haven't heard of even one person having negative comments about RecTec, that's rare. RAY

I messed up. Was explaining to my wife about this thread, well we both got our stimulus checks, went into my account and wife said she wanted her half. So this morning I asked if I could give her 1/2 to her in the form of a rec tek 700...she had already transferred it to her account, dang! Missed my chance lol!

One more reason for the cost difference is The 700 has a 6 year warranty and the 590 is four.

I like the Grilla Silverbac, though I have the Grilla OG. For me personally, I like the double-wall insulation on the bottom half, I like the option to run PID or non-PID on the controller. Of course they have great customer service as well.

RecTec makes a good grill, but it just wasn't for me. As for why I didn't pick RecTec, I just didn't like the horns, the reviews on the app store for the wifi are horrible, and I talked to a number of people who were banned from RecTec groups for posting about problems they were having. There are a lot of people here who love their RecTec and are very happy with it. I'm sure whatever you but, you'll like.

Other than the 2 yr difference in warranty, the bull is only 6" wider. $ 300 worth, I didn't think so
