maybe I'm stupid, maybe I bought a bootleg copy of the book, or maybe the rub, but I bought jeffs book Smoking Meat: the essential guide to real barbecue on my kindle. I was pretty excited to pick up this book and went through it pretty quickly. At first I was a little upset about the info in there. For some reason I was thinking I would find some stuff in this book that was not already either common knowledge or that I couldn't just find it on the internet. not the case but i figured well there is a bunch of good recipes in here so good enough. the first and only thing I've tried from the books just making and using the all purpose rub and it is terrible. I thought well maybe it will cook out and taste different after cooking so I tossed some on some burgers and dogs tonight and now I think my family and I will just run up to little ceasers and get 5 dollar hot and ready. I am really disappointed in this right now. I didn't figure by buying the book I would be gaining access to some ancient family secret recipe or anything but I figured Id at least get a decent base of things that I could build on to make my own but this all purpose rub is so bad I can't even eat the meat it is on. Am I the only one who has experienced this or did I read something wrong? I don't want to post the recipe on here because if this is some sort of scheme to make money off of poor dumb saps like myself I don't want to ruin it for anyone. but if there are others that bought the book and had this happen to them give me some advice, what did you do?
