Leave the slime on them until you have them coated in meal to bind the meal on them. BTW, cornmeal mix works real well for a dredge. Then fry them and the slime will go away.I decide on cornmeal pan fried for my first dish to go with Tri-tip tonight. Man my hands are slimy after cutting them up. I rinsed and rinsed the okra but that slim not come off. Guess be good after fried. Going to let them sit on rack until ready to cook. Now I know why I buy them all ready breaded!
