I have been following the MES 40 threads very closely, I have found a first generation MES 40" Smoker on craigs list in my area. He is asking $200, says he has only used it twice. What would be a good deal to get this at, $150, $175? I have seen the post about QVC contact selling refurbs for $200 plus shipping but figured if I can not have to pay shipping and get him down in price it would be a better deal for me. Then the money I save I can get a AMNPS.

I bought one of the QVC returns from MasterBuilt and it is the all Stainless Steel sides with the top vent . It works well and my first few smokes have been great. Even with the shipping I saved close to $70 compared to the price at our local Sam`s Clubs and our wonderful sales tax. See if they can ship it at a lower rate that might take a few more days to get to you. Mine was ordered on Tuesday and I received it on a Friday.
Good Luck

I did the same, I also found they had a cold smoke attachment for only 29.95. These were broken returns from QVC, which have been repaired and run out tested. So hoping I will be as happy as MDS51. They did lose my order though, but they shipped last Friday. I hope anyway. LOL

200.00 factory new and tested add 30.00 for a cold smoker and 60.00 freight. I am obviously closer to Georgia. Really nice folks there too.

Thanks guys, he went for the $150.00, so the choice is mine. It may be a risk buying used from someone I do not know but it will save me about $120, compared to new and shipping from QVC. Can buy mod parts with the money I saved. Still a hard decision to make.

FREE?  Or he pays YOU $150?
