I have noticed that certain terms are creating hyper links to advertisements. It doesn't happen until you hit "create thread" or "Reply". Then the link will be there. Not a feature I want. If I see a link to a place I don't support I will be very unhappy.

Here's one:

Only way to fix is to go in and edit the thread after you have posted and use the unlink tool.

I think that's a feature Jeff turned on to help support the forum. He gets a small percentage of the sale if one is made. Premier members can turn it off if they want I believe.

I noticed that the MES 30 Link sends people to an MES 30 Gen #2, at Amazon, which is the only MES Model that I've been telling people, for years, to stay away from. The only Bad Model !!
This could get people to buy the only bad Model Masterbuilt sells, which will no doubt cut Masterbuilt's sales, because it will increase the percentage of unhappy customers.
If it was linked to a Generation #2.5 it would be a good thing.

I noticed this when I posted the picture of my dogs in the pet thread. His name is maverick. At first, I thought I did something wrong.

Anyone else get a chuckle from the ads that are appearing under my thread "3 big butts" under "shop related products".

The only ads at the bottom of the post that I see, are items that either me or my wife have viewed or purchased on amazon. Kinda based on my history. So .......

Case, any of the links in this thread still take me to amazon.
You said you removed them, but they still work for me....

I didn’t remove them from this thread. I have unlinked them in other threads that I have posted, but not all of them.

I appreciate the candid feedback.. I also will be candid.

The links are put in by ME and link to our sponsors and affiliate partners. This is what helps to pay for the forum and is an essential part of the forum.

If you use the forum, enjoy the forum, and appreciate it’s ability to help people learn, then the ads, links, sponsors, affiliate partners, etc. are what makes all of that possible.

If you truly do not want to see the ads, I have set it up so that these are disabled completely for Premier Members as an appreciation for their support.

Premier Memberships can be purchased HERE.

Bearcarver Bearcarver , these are editable.. if you will send me the amazon link to the exact one that you recommend, I will personally make this change. I appreciate you pointing this out.

I personally don't mind advertising one bit. If I were you I'd do the same.

I'm just disappointed in the selection of ads on the MES link, Jeff.

Here I'll explain the problem:
For a few years I've been explaining the following, mostly to Newbies:
Masterbuilt makes & sells 3 models of the MES;
Generation #1----Great Smoker.
Generation #2----Junk.
Generation #2.5--The Best of the 3.

So every time "MES" comes up, the Hyperlink sends people to the one that is "Junk".
If you only knew how many people reported "Sadly" that they got the Generation #2 before they found out from myself & others on this forum that they should stay away from the Gen #2.
It wouldn't bother me if it went to the Gen #2.5, or even the Gen #1, but sending people to the Gen #2 is defeating the purpose.
