Last week i posted about WD pork stew meat for $.99/lb with $20 purchas.
Well the had beef shoulder roast for $4.99/lb which has gotten to be my favorite for grinding or burgers and such.
Grabbed two roasts and went searching for the pork stew meat. I'm not going to B$%tch but usually stew meat is cut into cubes. Of course there was only one meat guy for he whole dept so I wrangled him up and showed him the picture in the ad, since he didn't speak English. "uno momento" a few minutes later he came out and plopped this 8lb cryo bag of what looked like 1/4 butts or something. At that point on a Friday morning I wasn't in he mood to discuss it, as the cubed pork was sitting there @$5.99/ lb. So my lazy butt had to cube it. After all that it was time to make some Jimmy dean Hot copycat patty/ground sausage. I always do a couple one pound suck bags for biscuits and gravy and a bunch of small patties for breffus sandwiches.
Anyway, moral of the story, don't trust pictures in the sale paper. and guess what's for beffus this morning?

Great score for .99 a pound . Pork sirloin comes from the tail end of the loin , before the ham / back leg . You're living " high on the hog "
Yours is deboned , but with bone in , it has the eye of the loin and the tenderloin . Separated by a " T " bone . Like a T bone steak from beef . Sirloin chops and roast are awesome . Be great as stew meat . Makes a nice clean sausage grind too . It's lean , but looks like they have some fat cap on them . If you think it's to lean , grind a couple slices of bacon to mix in .
Any pictures of it out of the bag , not ground ?

grabbed two random from the big bag, as mama is suck bagging the rest. the actual on the bag says, "pork sirloin for stew" IMG_5353.JPG . All I know is I'm chowing a big plate of Biscuits and gravy, so it works real good for my Jimmy Dean Hot copycat gri.

That's a great score in my opinion . That darker pork meat is so good . The one is big enough to roll , tie , and smoke on the WSM for sliced pork roast . You could also grill it like a steak , but whatever gets you the most yeild is the way to go .
Great use with the breakfast sausage too . Nice clean quality grind .

thank you!
still easier than butchering a butt and slicing all the stringy stuff out.

Holy cow, you made out like a bandit! I'd probably have gone out of the store with a couple more of those bags. And I appreciate Chop's comment about grinding up a few slices of bacon if it seems too lean. I ground up a pack of pork loin chops for sausage the other day, and it came out drier than I wanted; next time I'll do that bacon trick.
