usd electric smoker

found a nice 21 gallon drum that I want to make it into an electric smoke but I am not sure what type of heater coil to use. I am trying to keep it simple and easy. any suggestions on a coil?

No expertise here, just speculating. I wonder if a water heater coil would work. I know some hobby distillers use them in beer keg stills connected through a rheostat type controller.
