Hi,
I am doing two turkeys in my rectec on extreme smoke 225 degrees.
My Maverick is registering the BBQ temp as 250. Of course, that affects my smoking and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the maverick or my rectec is not registrering temp correctly?
Does it matter if I have foil on the drip pan underneath the grates in that it will alter the temp inside the smoker? I have the turkeys in pans, so I can remove if it will help. I haven't ever had this temp fluctuation before, I have two turkeys for a week late Canadian Thanksgiving and it is making me worry. I have the temp bar right in front trying to keep it from moving, but it moves and falls into the grates and sides. Is ther somethign I can use to adhere it so it doesn't move?
As I have written this, the temp says 259 yet the rectec says 225.
Can anyone help?
