Paul has had a rough go of it for a few days both physically and emotionally. He knows what he has is terminal in most cases.
He has been diagnosed with Retroperitoneal Sarcoma. The doctors don’t know if it is malignant or not. The best way to find out is to do surgery and with him having pneumonia they don’t want to do that as of yesterday anyway. Apparently this is a pretty serious surgery especially with his size – again what he said.
There are a group of surgeons he spoke with that want to do a needle biopsy. This is done by using the CT Scan as a guide while they insert the needle to take a piece of the mass. There is some considerable risk involved if not done correctly there is a risk of hitting another organ or artery or …. Paul is still talking with them to decide if he wants to do that now or go to another facility. Seems last time he was there they told him they could not perform the operation at this facility.
Here is a link to some info http://www.tirgan.com/soft.htm
Finally something good to report. Paul finally spoke to his son and asked his son if he (Paul) and the new (2mos) grandson could be baptized together at the hospital and the son agreed to that. This is supposed to happen sometime this week.
Paul’s wish is to get their house in KC boarded up so Kathryn has a place to come back to and he wants to move about 90 miles away to live closer to his relatives for the rest of his time. If there is anyone in the KS area that might be able to help with this please let me know.
I should have a gmail account that he is setting up if anyone would like to send him a personal note and I will post that information here as soon as Paul sends it to me. For now they are still monitoring this thread.
I will also be posting a link or information for anyone wishing to help them with expenses. Things are pretty tough right now. As soon as I get that information I will let you all know.
Hugs my friend. We all miss ya
