I built my drum smoker but messed up with the directions I got online and but the holes on the bottom 6in from the bottom but it said to do it 3in is this going to be a problem?

I would think it will still work fine . try it out and see. If it don't Just cap them off and drill new holes at the 3".

or can just drill 1 at  3"   and put the ball valve on that one. Most of the time I just need the one open anyways.
