UDS Blasting Question

I just got a drum for a UDS and it has the red lining of death. I know this sounds bad but it gives me a excuse to use my sand blaster. Does anyone have an opinion on the medium to use? Should I use walnut shells or could I get away with aluminum oxide?

Geever, evening and welcome to the forum.....  I would use the least expensive media... maybe sand would work....  What ever media you use, it won't be reusable due to the contamination....   Dave

I know it takes the fun out of using your sand blaster...but I did it this way, and it is quick and easy.

If you insist on the sandblaster, I'd do what Dave said and find whatever is cheapest.

You dont want to use sand due to what the silica will do to your lungs. Red Garnet or aluminum oxide or glass bead.

I use a #4 blast sand with a respirator. It's about 8.95 per 100# bags.
