Thanks guys and gals for your sacrifice and service.
I too hope you all had a great day.
This is a sore subject with me. I was never enlisted in our US armed forces and it wasn't because I didn't try at the time I was 18. I do know my History and Know the Vietnam War was political over being fought for righteous reasons. Our young men and women who returned home from that conflict were treated so poorly, not only by civilians, our own government as well! What a kick in the teeth for serving your country, drafted or not!Sorry I missed this yesterday. Nothing but respect for our military members.
Let's not forget a lot of these men were forced to fight in this war (drafted) and we're villainized when they came home.
God bless all of you!
It shouldn't have to come down to an act of atrocity like Pearl Harbor or 911, to rally Patriotism in our country. Don't anyone kid himself, there is more to the stories we all don't know for a reason.Bigbore,
It's a shame it went down like that. I'm just glad things have at least changed on the public front.
Funny how we missed it too, Richie!!
I'm with JJ never heard of it,no one said anything at the VA clinic on Mon.
Thanks to all that made it home and the men & women that didn't![]()
Richie
Amen Brother, you're not the only country not to be recognized for your participation into something you didn't start! http://thevietnamwar.info/what-countries-involved-in-the-vietnam-war/I'm afraid I missed it too.
Saying thanks to all who served doesn't come close to compensating all the veterans who were treated so poorly upon their return. My country still refuses to acknowledge that there were Canadians serving.
One Canadian at least says THANK YOU!!
