How long do the tube smokers last ? Interested. Does it build up much heat inside the chamber?

I put enough pellets in the tube to last about 6 hours. It does not build up much heat as I also do it outside around the end of February, so its cold outside.

Dang those look good. Would an even swap of venison for beef work? Also, will mahogany casings work, or do you need natural?

Yes venison does work. Some friends of mine do use venison in theirs. I am not an expert but I think you need the natural for it to dry properly.
