Newark New York
Afternoon all!
I know the weather has been crazy for most parts of the USA. And the world. But upstate NY is usually an area that has mild summers. With a few 90 degree days. The last couple of years? HOT!!!!
This spring I bought a portable AC for the RV to keep it comfortable on trips. How are you all doing this summer?

FIRST DAYS IN A COUPLE MONTHS IT'S BEEN UNDER 110º+ HERE STEVE, ONLY 102º THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, LOVING IT!

Here in Jersey July was pretty brutal heat and humidity, rain. August has been better, still hot but way less humid (most days) just good summer weather.

We have become desert rats. Like it warm.
Temp set at 79 inside.
Cool day today, only suppose to hit 89.

You guys! Thats too hot!!!

At our elevation we have had a mild summer comparatively with only a handful of days at or above 85-which to us is HOT...no one has AC up here so we just sweat it out till the sun sets and crack up the fans.

We've had below normal temps all summer. And a bit above average rainfall. But that's nothing " crazy " here. Just another summer in Oklahoma.
We are almost at a drought stage here. We are hoping for rain tomorrow. The grass is brown. And crunches when you walk on it. We gave up on the herb garden. Water bill last month was 475.00 Electric was double because I'm cooling basically two houses.

In the last 50 years, there's only been two July's that we've not had a 100* day. And we almost did that last month. Got all the way to July 30 before going over 100* .

Usually, by this time of year, everything here is burnt up and brown. But its green now.

Used to live up in Bailey. No such think as hot there.

Steve, Tip about RV. I had tough time last year keeping things cool in my 5th wheel trailer. (Myrtle Beach) I bought some rolls of that reflective bubble insulation. I cut it to custom fit each of my windows. Some were friction fit some I had to put small velcro fasteners. Hugh difference very cool this Beach trip.
Also I use those screens that hang on the awnings. Those help too.

Thanks! I use that on the windows too. Made a difference last year. But still too warm for me. Between that. And the extra AC. The difference is amazing. I like the temp to be around 68-72. Just me.

Oh yeah. I bought the screen too. I put the part on that stays on the awning. Just haven't attached the other part because the winds were too high the last few trips.

Couple of weeks ago we had quite a few days of high humidity and the heat index around 120℉. Then this front moved in and now it rains everyday...and LOTS of rain. I ran several charters where the morning temps were mid 60s in the last couple of weeks. Seems this week we may be getting back closer to normal with afternoon thunderstorms and the temps from mid 70s in the mornings to low 90s in the afternoon...that is until the thunderstorm pops up and cools things down.

Water bill last month was 475.00
$475?? That's seems crazy! That would be the cost for 3-4 months for us...

We usually stay low to mid 80's at the peak of the day. Then drop to 50's in the evening. I don't know how some of you boys do it. It hits 90 and im like.. " This is ridiculous." 😂

We had heat advisory yesterday and today... temps around 90, high humidity, heat index about 103. Putting up my wife's new garden shed yesterday we had swamp ass... today we planned on finishing but after a tool run... NOPE, too darn hot! Plopped my butt on the couch with my dog... she loved it as well as I did! Have a tshirt and flannel shirt on... tstat is set on 70 lol!

Lots of 90+ days here in NE Ohio and very little rain for weeks. Supposed to get some tomorrow mad this coming week.
