So I just found out that I can get 24% off msrp of Camp Chef & 20% off msrp for Traeger (benefits of working for an outdoor company)

I am in the market for a pellet grille to replace my Char-Broil Gas Grill. Seems like a no brainer to go with the Camp Chef Pellet Grille w/ Sear Station...am I right? $900 Grille for only $680.

Very tempted to make the purchase this instant...only thing stopping me...i just started learning about pellet grilles...so Im quite ignorant to it all.

Do enough research to be convinced about your purchase.
Read the reviews, but remember to do so with a grain of salt. I suggest a grain of rock salt. Pretty soon you can sort out the BS from the real reviews.
One thing that always interests me is the weight of the grills. Tin weights less than steel. ;)
When you decide on one, then sleep on it. Sometimes you think of things the next morning, or you wake up thinking, and those can be points you had not considered. Nor would have the chance if you knee-jerk, impulse buy.
Be happy with what you get before you get it, then take the time to get really good at running it.
Have fun! And congrats on the insider discount.:)

Can't go wrong either way. Both are great cookers. I've had Traegers for 16 years and love 'em. Friends have CS...love it. IMO they cook virtually the same. Just get the one you like best...you'll have no regrets.

Very True, I tend to make knee jerk purchases lol. I still have some time so certainly going to do more research! Thanks.

Have heard nothing but good things about both. I wish a local store had them in stock so I can actually go see them.

My best friend works for Traeger but before that, he turned me on to Camp Chef and, after some research, I purchased a Woodwind and haven't looked back. Now, we poke fun back and forth (Camp Chef vs Traeger) but the one thing he never has a comeback for is when I hit him with something about my sear box.

Both are good quality and easy to use. For me, the versatility of the Woodwind is what led me to choose Camp chef over Traeger.

Thats whats Im looking for...I plan on using the Camp Chef/Traeger primarily as a grill more than a smoker. I have my MES to really put some good smoke on. That sear station is what is pulling me in and making it more of a versatile tool.
