Hello All,

I'm sure some of you have seen this offer from Z Grills about the new grill every 5 years for the next 50 years. It's interesting, and even a little tempting, but I really don't know anything about Z Grills. I'm a UDS guy and have no experience with the pellet poopers, know about Camp Chef, Reqteq, and Traeger, but have only recently heard of Z Grills. Just trying do some research and due diligence before leaping into something that may not be any good. Any opinions will helpful, thanks!

No experience with them.
Not sure of your budget, but Grilla Grills is in the same price range as the ones you mentioned.

I do not have one of their pellet grills, but I do have their Primate gas grill & griddle.
A decent grill.
Customer service is great.
I filled out a review 3 days ago.
Complained the cover is falling apart in less that 2 years, holes at all corners, tears, etc.
Got a simple email yesterday, saying they posted my review and are sending me a new cover.

Just thought I'd mention it to give you another option.

The first pellet grill I bought was a Z Grill ZPG-L6002B from the Orange Big Box store.
It was OK, mainly because I didn't know any better.

However, the Traeger Pro 22 totally rocks.

Thank you for the feedback, good to know. I went to my go-to source for grill ratings, amazingribs.com, and they only had one review and gave it a silver medal. Basically they said what you said, good, but there's many that are better. What they're offering sounds like a good deal, but don't want jump into something if there's much better available elsewhere. Thanks again!

A new grill every 5 years seems very wasteful and bad for the environment. There is also a bit of PITA to that, you have to get rid of one every 5 years. Not seeing this as a good thing.

Why not buy a good one that lasts?

My biggest question here is WHY are they offering it? Seems like a good deal. Kinda like leasing a car. Get the newest model with the fanciest stuff every few years. This also assumes the company will be in business for at least 10-20 years. Plus pretty sure the small print some where says they can renegotiate the deal and end it at any time.

Now hold on there.... anything being offered to be replaced in 5 years tells you all you need to know. They basically are admitting the level of their quality. No way would I want to go thru having to get ride of one just to have to do it again and again. Remember, you get what you pay for. I've been running my pellet smoker since 2014 and it's still perfect. If you're going to spend money, get a known quality made product with a proven track record. Personally I use a MAK but there are others, suggest you start by looking at Recteq. Many use them here and I've yet to read negative reports.
