I have an MMS V9 gravity feed charcoal smoker and I recently bought an Inkbird digital thermometer with 2 thermocouples to use in it. My question is that the smoker comes with a built in bung/threaded port for probes that is fairly large (approximately the diameter of my thumb) and I am wondering how others have put probes in a similar configuration and not allowed smoke to come pouring out during use? The stainless braided thermocouple wires are thin and that will just leave a large gap for smoke to escape. Are there tricks/DIY? Wire plugs for sale that are made for this issue?

Thanks!

John

I don't think you will lose enough smoke to make a real difference. You can always stuff a small rag around the wires or find a right sized cork and cut a slot length wise for the wires.
