Can I use my blue tooth meat prob to monitor the temp of the grill? Is there a difference in the probes

Take a clothes pin, piece of wood, etc, and drill a hole in it about 2" above where the grate level is and it should work fine. I've got a Maverick that I do this with to monitor both sides of my pit and it works fine.

What kind of unit is it? My IGrill has ambient pit probes, that are designed to be used in the pit. With that said I have used the meat probes too. onhave noticed that the ambient probes are more stable than the meat probes when used for pit temps.
