Patient: Yep
Doctor: Cigarettes, marijuana?
Patient: mostly brisket & pork butt!

To be honest, I was Dxed with COPD and my Dr advised me to be careful with BBQing, as it can be damaging to my already compromised lungs so I try to stay up wind and use a safety mask when I have to immerse myself in smoke.

I feel you! I too have COPD and working with the chlorine for the pool almost killed me!

COPD here too. I just be careful and step WAY back when I open the smoker door. I wear a mask too if I'm gonna have my head in smoke. And make sure the smoker is cool before I wipe it out with vinegar. :) Thats why I went electric, just set it and forget it. I do like it though when a new doctor or pulmonologist asks if I smoke. Oh yeah , a lot! I think everybody should!

That's terrible. I am allergic to smoke and have allergy induced asthma. Not nearly as bad as your situation but I can definitely empathize.
