So the inaugural gathering had a very small turnout, but you gotta start somewhere right!

Since spring is finally starting to show up here, and the wife and I were jonesing for a good BBQ'd burger. I thought why not today. It wasn't supposed to rain, and the temps were predicted to be in the 50's. So let's get this process started.

First up getting the bacon cooking. For those that know me. Know that I like bacon. I don't eat it often, but when I do I tend to go extreme.

The local grocer didn't have our normal McKenzie bacon so I had to buy this off-brand crap. It made the weave tougher to build.

Bacon weave on the 26" Kettle with two charcoal baskets providing the heat source.

Weave is flipped and the first two burgers are tossed on the grill:

Weave is cooked, removed from the grill and cut into quarters. A third burger has been added as well as the cheese. One slice of American, and one
slice of Cabot sharp cheddar.

This one is mine:

Distance shot: The wife decided she only wanted the burger, no cheese or bacon. That's fine more for me!!!

Construction is complete with tomatoes and some Russian dressing.

Sliced shot with some of my wife's German potato salad.

Thanks for taking a peek, There's nothing more satisfying then the first burger of the year off the grill.

Thanks Chop, I like her potato salad cold, but she like it warm. So I always take my portion and put it in the fridge. I'll ask her nicely if she'll give up the recipe.

Chris you owe me a key board drool factor applied LOL WOW
Richie

Sorry about the keyboard Richie, but it was worth it. Appreciate the compliment and like also.

Nice Chris, I see you haven't lost your touch, even after 8 months of winter. I really like the bacon trick, I'll be giving that a try.

Very nice work Chris! I’ll take the weave all to myself. That looked like perfection right there!

Yes sir what a great looking burger. Be even better with a fresh garden tomato.

Totally agree Warren, we're still a few months away from homegrowns, but that would put it over the top. Thanks for the like also.

Appreciate the like and compliment Dan. If you like bacon give the weave a go. The hardest part is getting it on the grill when it's in the raw state. It works great for BLTs also.

Thanks Civil, That notion crossed my head when I flipped it. Then I remembered the burgers. Appreciate the like also.

Top notch stuff right there Chris, nice job!

Thank you kindly Water and for the like. I'm always trying to make a better buger.

That looks great and I'll bet tasted even better

Tasted unbelievably good Jerry. The bottom of my bun soaked out and turned to mush, but it still tasted great.
