Talk, to, me about Insta pots, please.

I want one, but don't know what options I need.
I'll mainly use it for meat, soups and stews, and maybe sauces, and preserves, I think, another thing in what size? Likewise, I like to cook pretty big for freezing meal preps, but I don't need massive, due to storage space being tight.

Which brand seem to be best? I'll wait for holiday sales before buying, unless you know of a good deal now.

I looked at the Insta-Pot brand for a long time. Maybe passed out of stupidity.
Cousin loves it and use it it for many of their meals. She doesn't always use the pressure cook feature. She uses it to sear the meat

There is a 6qt Itsa Pot brand on marketplace for $30 still in the box, used twice.
If they have it still, I'll most likely grab it as it 10 minutes away.

Not sure if 6qt is big enough, but for that price it will be a nice introduction to using one.

IP replacement parts are plentiful. I have one for meats one for sweets. Don’t want your desserts smelling like your stews. They’re 10-15 years old. I have an extra stainless pot and silicone lid. I put away leftovers in the pot I cooked in. And finally, IPs are pretty cheap, especially on Black Friday.

My son has the Instant Pot 6 Qt DUO which I've used quite a bit and liked. When he moved out, we bought ourselves the Instant Pot PRO 10-in-1. It has some additional features that I really prefer, like the grab and go handles, auto pressure lock and more granular temperature control for Sautéing.
Price is a bit high right now ($170) but should come down for the holidays.

We have the Instapot Chef series 6 qt. I have used it a few times but my wife uses it often.

We had an older one that wee gave to a family member so I bought another. The newer one is nicer since the pressure relief is a switch instead of having to turn the pressure valve where the steam shoots out.

You won't go wrong with the 6qt Instapot Duo if that is what it is.

You can do a whole chicken in it.
Also, I have made yogurt in mine in addition to other things. I'm not a major yogurt fan but I have to say I made the best yogurt I've ever eaten in it hahaha.

It does a ton of things, I hope you get that one for $30!!

I have the 6 qt IP and Insignia™ 8 qt. Mostly use the 6 qt. Bestbuy has really good sales on the Insignia™ .

I bought my Duo 6 Qt in December of 2017 and love it! Its just me and a dog so i don't need anything larger, but size wise I don't know how much more space the 8 Qt would take up. Across the handles, mine is ~13". I do hard boiled eggs often, and talk about reducing the time to make a pot roast with a nice chuckie! I make the dogs shredded chix breasts every 4-5 days, and soup, stew etc are a breeze but there are limitations when pressure cooking, obviously its a liquid based game, and you have to watch the water content to make sure you don't burn anything. Another thing to keep in mind, is that it is not a true pressure cooker that you can do low acid food canning in like meats etc. It only operates at 10-11 psi if memory serves me, correct me if I'm wrong. It's a tool like anything else, but I say any negatives are outweighed by it's wide variety of uses. Unlike vacuum sealers, I have zero regrets regarding my purchase which was $119 in 2017.
