Well it’s a beautiful Sunday here in Riverside. Smoking some meat just seemed like the right thing to do today. I’ve got a rack of spareribs and a tri tip on the OKJ this afternoon. The beautiful waft of pecan smoke is swirling around my yard mixing with the smell of orange blossoms. Does it get any better than this? I’m even going to grill some shrimp to go full surf and turf today. I’ve got the fixings for some fresh guacamole and we are going to mix up some deviled eggs as well. It will be a feast fit for hungry :)

Sounds fantastic. Can’t wait for the weather to get better here on the east coast so I can fire up my OKJ.

Sorry Challenger I didn’t take any food porn pics. I got some unsettling news and it threw me off my game. The tri tip was perfect. The ribs were a bit tougher than I wanted them but they were delicious. The grilled shrimp were a nice surprise. I’ve never grilled them before. The wife is not a fan of grilled shrimp. I tried a grillmates marinade chipotle pepper smoke. Added a couple teaspoons of lime juice to the mix. They were so tasty. This is the first time I’ve used my grill in months. The OKJ has been my go to since December. I threw some mesquite chips in my steel smoke box just to add a little more oomph to the grill. God I love barbecue.

Thanks for the compliment JMT

The smell of orange blossoms what's that. We're still in the dead of winter. Sorry about the unsettling news(hope it wasn't to bad). Sounds like you cooked up a great meal though.

Chris my condolences on your weather. I’m sure that Spring is just around the corner for you. I have a medley of citrus scents at my house. I have an orange tree right next to my smoker and my immediate neighbor has a lemon tree. The two blend together in the breeze like nature’s perfume. Enjoy your Tuesday.

George that sounds wonderful - what I imagine a Fabreeze factory smells like. I'm looking forward to a yard full of poopsicles and frozen lemonade(this is my year to do poop patrol) to clean up. We're still a month or two away from spring scents.
