Hey, smokers. Joined after reading some smoker designs. I'm an I.T. guy by trade but I do everything else I can learn out of necessity and just fun. Just ordered a char-griller gas as my other ones are in need of more help than I feel like giving. I'm a car guy, welder(Dynasty 280DX in my garage), electrician, plumber, and whatever else breaks at mine or my family's houses. I hate buying grills. Went through 2 stainless portable grills from Lowe's over the last 12 years and they suited me well. Just efficient for my needs. A 20# tank would last me a year cooking a LOT. I thought about building some stout burner tubes and basically fixing what goes bad but I might use the metal for some other hair-brained idea. I cooked on my neighbor's char-griller duo a few times and really liked how it ran. Had a friend give me a huge char-broil stainless a year or two ago and it just always sucked. Never used a smoker but I love smoked food so I might get the time to build one this year. Anyway, thanks for having me.
