My wife opened a pack of thick cut bacon today and there were these black spots on every piece in the same location. Quick search online showed some other people asking about the same spots but couldn't find a definitive answer on what it actually is. Is it mold? Maybe an ink stamp from the butcher? Either way we cut it off and tossed it as we couldn't find an answer but figured I'd ask on here too... the spots ran on the same edge of every piece in the pack.
