I'm loving and hating this time of the year.  We've had absolutely beautiful weather that has melted most of the snow off.  I was actually able to walk from the house to the garage a few days ago without having to step on ice or snow and the drive was finally all dirt!

Then woke up expecting about an inch or two of snow a couple of days ago to find 8+ inches on the ground.  Not the nice light fluffy stuff but a some what heavy wet snow.  But today most of that has already melted off.

I know there is much more snow to come before we are through with it but I still love waking up to the beauty here in the mountains.  Good news is this time of year it won't last long as normally it will be followed with blue skies and high temps!

We just had the same thing:

After about 2 weeks of highs in the 40s, and lows in the 20s, we were seeing a lot of green areas within our sea of white.

Then Friday, the first day of "Spring", it started snowing at 6 AM, and didn't stop until 10 PM, after dropping a Brand New 9" of the White Stuff !!!

I'm going to have to shoot an extra Groundhog this year!!!

I sympathize with all those that have been getting excessive snow this year.  Last year we got double the normal amount and it just never seemed to quit.  It was followed by a cooler than normal summer and winter came early this year.  At least our snow was more reasonable this year.

Couple this with a brother and friends that live down south that seem to take delight in "rubbing it in" when our weather sux.  I have been known to ask my brother "How's the weather down there?" when he has had to evac for a hurricane though.

Yeah----Knock on wood-----The only parts of Hurricanes we normally get are just the heavy rain & wind on the tail end of them.

Our Tornadoes here are small & rare.

I've heard a slight rumbling of an Earthquake a few years ago here, for the only time in my 66 years of life.

So we'll keep our snow storms, as nasty & pretty as they may be.
