Only downsides to the product FYI, is hot grease will stain so get a Q pad under your BBQ. When it turns winter time watch those steps. They get a bit slick. My mom had the same stuff installed. We ended up putting self adhesive grip tape like we use on the boats on her treads.

There are different types of AZEK--This is the "XLM".
My Son has this for a few years, and his BGE is right on it. Stains wipe right up.

This from their site:

Refining and redefining what decking means, AZEK Deck Boards have been engineered to withstand the everyday things that happen on a deck. Even spilled wine, fruit punch, and hamburger grease are no match for AZEK Deck’s stain resistance. And, since AZEK Decks are scratch resistant, you won’t have to worry about marks from patio furniture or pets. - See more at: http://www.azek.com/products/deck/xlm#sthash.876SVWjp.dpuf

I just hit my Azek decking around the smokers with simple
Green and all of my grease drips disappear.

Thanks Chris!! Glad to hear that !!

Nice set-up you got there!!

That rail cap is what my Son has on his----I opted for the "2 X 4" type because I set stuff on top of my railing now & then.

Hi Bear,

I didn't know about the 2x4 rail.  That is a good idea.  Good luck with the new deck.

Good looking stuff Bear.

We had to replace all three of our porches and opted for composite to better match the siding.  The total was over 40' about 9' deep.  Add in three wide staircases, railings, skirting and trim and we could have made a lot of boat payments for what it cost.  The payoff, of course, is that as we get older we don't want to have to do much maintenance and they really do just wash off.

BTW, Nancy wants me to come swipe...err, borrow some of your bears for our place.  Now what is you street address.....?

Thank You!!

I wish I could still make Bears, because a lot of people have wanted some.

You know what I mean about too much maintenance. I gotta get the rear deck done like this too so it doesn't need any maintenance. I still have to coat my whole log house, so I'd like that to be all.

I used to paint Woodguard on the whole thing every 3 years, but I found that to be too often for the North side, and not enough for the other 3 sides. So now I coat the North side every 4 years, and the E,W, and S sides every 2 years. So that means the whole thing every 4 years & the E, W, and S in between those 4 years.

I used to paint everything below 14' by myself (All but the 3 high gable ends), but now I'm down to only things I can reach from a step ladder.
