Well, I learned a lesson today. I used a smoke tube for the first time today and made the mistake of putting it in next to the temp probe in my pellet smoker. The reason I did that was to get the smoke to roll over the meats to the other end of the smoke chamber and out the chimney. Well, the thing worked really well but it gets really hot and the temp looked like it spiked up but it was just the smoke tube doing the job. Almost put the fire out in the burn chamber. Live and learn. Next time it will go on the other end.

K, I had a pellet tray flare up once and it destroyed my smokers internal temp probe, lesson learned.

I have put it in the smoke pipe end and don't think it makes too big of a difference, the fan circulates the air around pretty good
