today i though i would try to smoke something i have not done in a while, so i purchased a Boston butt, and some wangs.
i rubbed this butt down with a salt free rub that i have been working on, so i put in on the wangs also
here is the wings, they are done LONG before the butt even hits it stalling period... boy does it take a long time to smoke a butt.......
here is a picture of the butt, when the wings were done..
i tried something new for me i brushed on BBQ sauce here while the butt was in its stall temps around 145-160, seems like it takes forever to get out of that stage.. BUT here it is finally reached 200-205... and now it is at rest.... will pull after a hour or so at rest.
used a Memphis sweet and spicy style BBQ sauce. thats a very good sauce for a butt.

THANKS FOR LOOKING

Nice smoke dannylang!  I've never sauced a butt while on the smoker, but that looks amazing!  My girlfriend likes her PP cooked on a griddle with bbq sauce so that the sauce gets caramelized.  I think you just saved me that step.

Looks great! Last time I smoked a butt was on a new smoker...almost couldn't get it off the grate without it falling apart. Think I went a bit too long with it. Still tasted fantastic, but falling apart on the grates doesn't leave you with many options!

Sorry I missed this until now.

That butt looks fantastic Danny!

I never sauced a butt before, but it sure sounds like a great idea!
