Clear skies and no humidity today. An old AF buddy lives in Minnesota and I feel for the dude.

It's been horrible in mid Wisconsin. On Thursday the air quality was at 460. Planes could not see to land at the EAA event in Oshkosh. So, you guys that know smoke, what air quality is a good smoke on the grill? 500? We get a brake, for now. Saturday afternoon it's coming back. 90 degrees and smokey. I feel like a pig!

Pretty bad.......Not much can be done. Rain would help.

I remember a few years back hardly being able to make out the Golden Gate Bridge from across the bay. It was when we had all of those wild fires in northern California.

With the high pressure ridge was parked over the northern part of the state the smoke was coming down the valley and blowing going out to sea. It was weird living in an orange world for a week. I certainly don't miss it.

God Bless the men and women attempting to control these fires! I am glad we have firefighters for these events. Again, GOD BLESS THE FIREFIGHTERS!

I'm assuming that my light-hearted joke got deleted because it's gone.
Yes it did. Our job as moderators is to keep this place stress free and where people want to come visit without the bs that is encountered other places. Not to add any drama but I'm replying to you here to say we are not perfect. And some of the comments I deleted included my own... to only delete certain comments makes a thread make no sense. The comments I deleted were because I thought the thread starter was being given a hard time. I didn't know it was quotes from the movie Stripes... until it was pointed out to me after several days. So yes, I did delete it... it was in a text I took the wrong way. We try our best... but definitely not perfect!

Most definitely! As a recent burn victim in January I totally understand. Talked to a firefighter over the 4th that was burned badly fighting a fire. Mine was 1st and second degree burns, mainly on my right arm that I lost most of that skin, it was an accident. The firefighter I talked to had most of his chest burned, because he chose to be on the fire department... won't go into what he endured in his recovery.
So yes... God Bless all the firefighters!
