Firing up the Smoker this morning to try a new burnt end recipe Jeff Phillips emailed out a while back. Using Cherry wood for the smoke. Cold (17 degrees) and windy but we (the WSM and me) can handle it.

Added extra boiling water to the water pan as last couple of times it hasn't lasted as long. Kind of regret it right now as had a longer time getting to 230 degrees. I don't always use water but thought the windy conditions might warrant it today.

Definitely more excited for the burnt ends than the game. Hope the commercials are good!! Maybe my favorite team (Chiefs) will make it someday. Until then, I'll just use the Super Bowl as a reason to fire up the smoker.

Here are the lead off pictures. Will update later unless complete failure happens.

I feel ya buddy. The Giants made it easy not to watch football this season. 17* and windy is the norm this time of year.
It looks good so far...Keep us posted.
