My loin ham that I cured/smoked is in the pan.
Chicken dressing is in the pan.
Potato salad and deviled eggs dusted with paprika that I smoked are in the fridge and the cranberry sauce is sliced.
Homemade yeast rolls are made...

...and here I am, AGAIN, with a head cold and CANNOT TASTE A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

Clearly, I am cursed.

As you were.

Mine started off with sinus infection, I thought, prayers sent

I've been taking vitamin D3 for over a year now. It's supposed to help build up your immune system. I also take vitamin C for the same reason. This is on top of normal consumption of fruits and veggies.

Stay safe and healthy Sherry

I wish you a quick recovery and some Fresh Tasting Leftovers!

DON'T exceed the recommended dosage of Vitamins A,D,E and K. They are all Fat Soluble and are Stored in the body. Too much can become Toxic...High doses of Vitamin B and C are a waste of money, as excess is eliminated in Urine...Your Merry Christmas Safety announcement from Safety Claus.☺...JJ

Here’s hoping your just “unlucky” with a cold. My buddies family of 4 have COVID right now and 3 of 4 have no sense of taste or smell. They are doing pretty well other than that.

Mine felt just like a very slight head cold as well go get tested in case you have it you don't spread it to loved ones. The second week I had the night sweats bad with a super dry cough that lasted a month. My lungs still aren't back to 100% which sucks because my lungs already suck from working around asbestos for so many years. I'm still on an inhaler and get very short of breath super easily. I had it back in April and I still don't feel 100%. Last week I came down with another head cold and thought oh great not this crap again. Went and got tested and thank God this time around it is just a head cold.
GO GET TESTED!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes and advice.

I've ALWAYS lost my sense of taste and smell when I've had a head cold...sniffles>stuffed up>no smell>no taste...and it lasts until I'm back to just a sniffle here and there.

It does seem to be a little better today, though...I'm catching whiffs of smell here and there this morning.

Hope your over your head cold soon. All that cooking and not being able to smell and taste them sucks.
Jim

Our doc had told us to regularly prophylactically take D3, and at first signs of COVID symptoms take Zinc and Pepcid.

Without a test, there's one way to tell if it was Covid; recurring symptoms. My wife and I are still dealing with a repeating pattern of issues 11 months after exposure by a daughter who worked in Silicon Valley, the first CA hotspot. They weren't testing for Covid at that time.

SherryT SherryT I normally get sick around the holidays every year as well, mainly from lack of sleep, exposure to a bushel of nieces, nephews and cousins that are either Drs or RN's. They bring home everything going around the hospitals that they work in. With elderly parents we made everyone stay home this holiday season. Guess what I still caught a cold.LOL I guess lack of sleep and sitting in cold duck blinds got me again. This morning I woke up to a headache and runny nose once again. If I wasn't just tested I'd go get tested again mainly because I care for my 80+ yr old parents and inlaws. The testing is a drive up deal, and it's free out here, and they text you your results within 4 hours. If I don't feel better by Monday I'll go get tested again just for the sake of my folks and knowing the last thing I want to do is spread this crap to others if I have it again. I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better but in all honesty that doesn't mean that you are COVID free. If you can get tested you should do so for your own piece of mind and the safety of loved ones around you.
