Even buying a gun from my brother out of state was a pita. I can’t speak for receiving payment but look at https://www.shipmygun.com/go/ for shipping. They’re part of bobs gun shop. Ffl to ffl. It ship on their corporate rate so way cheaper than on your own.

I can relate. Selling is not as easy as it once was. I’ve used GB with mixed results. Nothing wrong with the platform, just very difficult people. I won’t sell without an FFL transfer. I use a local shop on consignment. One shop charges a 10% fee of the final sale. Other shop is a little different. I give him my bottom line price and he keeps anything over that price. Since I do consignments with him, he allows the transfer in the store with discounted FFL fee. I know I don’t get top dollar but I’m able to sell along with some peace of mind.

PITA for sure. We have both FFL's ready. Its the money transfer that the seller is hung up on. I think its silly, but they dont. I think we have an option next week.

I've bought a number of firearms on Gunbroker and unless the seller is local to me in South Florida where I can do a face to face transaction I ONLY buy from a FFL dealer.

The gunshow route or if you have a local online selling route those are the best options.

So I need to get it to a shop that will relist it on their Gun Broker account so the buyer can buy it again and pay through the shops pay service. Good thing Im not in a hurry. I would walk away from this PITA, but they are willing to pay top dollar. So I'll give it a little extra effort.

USPS money order doesn't have any restriction. Just get your handgun sent to a FFL that will process for a fixed fee (mine in Minnesota was $25). Buyer can inspect purchase and hand dealer a money order properly made out to you. FFL mails you the money order.

After you receive and deposit money order, the FFL can release handgun to purchaser provided they cleared the background check which should be done prior to the MO. That will probably up the fee for the extra handling.
As others have said you can send direct to a FFL less magazines.

The buyer pretty much refused all options I provided. They never responded to the last email. DONE with that a** hat. I canceled the sale, requested the final sale credit from GB. For all the fees and crap for the auction, FFL, CC etc. Ill just keep it. If I get motivated again I'll just take the hit on g***(dot)c**. Sold a shotgun to them a while back. Super easy, fair but not generous price. This private sale stuff is a nightmare.

Shiesh. Yep, hassle. You might see if there are any local web gun sites in your state. We have "Oklahoma Shooters Association." Lots of good guys there, lots of good shooting information and a lot of other helpful stuff. Kinda a private social group. If close enough, some meet for lunch, shooting events, or just shoot the bull frequently online. You might check your state laws concerning private transfers, but we have been known to meet other members at say a Bass Pro parking lot and after making fully sure they are an instate resident and watching their reaction by asking them if they are legal to own a fire arm, made some private transfers to avoid your examples of hassles. that would be ideal. I did a quick search for a PX4 group and that didnt pan out. Local group would make this all 100X easier. At this point I am just gonna keep it a while longer. I bought is 15 years ago. Today, not worth the hassle.

Like, 801, we have Arkansas Gun Traders. Everything from ammo to muzzleloaders and beyond.
Another place to look is local hunting and fishing forum websites. Many of them have buy and sell sub-forums.

I once sold two shotguns to Bass Pro Shops. They were very fair with me.

Both shotguns (they were in very good condition) fetched 90 cents on the dollar of brand new price.

Shotguns are not a semi-auto handgun...but it's probably worth looking into - phone call at least.
