Selling a pistol, not so easy...Thoughts

I have a semi auto pistol I am trying to sell. I put it on Gun Broker thinking that would be easy. Well its not easy to get paid. As a nonbusiness without an FFL payment seems nearly impossible. I have a buyer, but no means to get paid. I feel stuck. Am I?

If this deal dies, I guess I just need to hit my local shop and have them list it on GB for me and pay their commission?

More background. Local shops offered me "blue book" which was half what I paid, at $250-$300. Its discontinued and has a "following" and the sale I am trying to make is for $700+shipping and tax.

If a sale is made I've no problem with PP, Zelle or et.
Then⁶ its a simple FFL to FFL transfer.

Rich is correct. The transfer has to be FFL to FFL across state lines. You pay a fee for the service. They do the background checks, handle the transfer. They also act as a third party to the sale. Last gun I sold was a shotgun. Buyer was in Florida. I think back then the FFL cost was $25-30 bucks. But sometimes, it is a percentage of the sale price. Call around and check. You find a local FFL dealer, your buyer finds one local to him that he trusts. The two dealers handle the sale. It is fairly common.

They want 80-90 for the transfer plus 40-50 to ship. They dont want to process the payment for me. its frustrating AF! If I can get payment, I would pay the fees. But payment is the hang up now.

Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact, 2 extra 13 round mags, CCW and leather holders, hard and soft case, original grip adjusters, shot less than 500X, I bought it new.

You need to check other FFLs.

If they charge you a transfer fee they're ripping you off.

That's the way I have understood it also.

Look, seriously, take the ding on GB and cancel the sale.
Apologize profusely to your buyer and explain you didn't know the intricacies of GB policies.

Then do a private sale local to you for cash.
You meet them at an FFL, the buyer examines the gun and pays you, then the buyer pays the FFL to perform the transfer.

You could also attend a gun show and literally wear a sign advertising your gun, or try to sell to an FFL at the show.
I've done this several times, For Sale sign on rifle or pistol case.
Then its still the same transaction process.

You Will Never Get a Fair Price From a Dealer... Period.
They want/have to make money reselling it.
