Well the weather was just right, there was a nice breeze blowing thru my carport, so I thought that it was a perfect day to put a coat of wax on the Mustang, drink a few beers, & put a rack of ribs on the smoker. It doesn't get much better than this!

Hope you all had a great Cinco de Mayo!
I know I sure did!
Al

Looks like a nice Saturday Al. Great looking mustang. And those ribs look outa sight! B like!

HELL YES!!!

What’s done to the Pony Car?

I spent my day peddling a bicycle around a small village north of Amsterdam. Even found a BBQ joint I was too scared to try!

Pat

Well I had to work yesterday and today so I didn't get to enjoy the fine weather. Al both the ribs and the car are done to perfection.

Points for sure.

Chris

I could go for some of the Ribs, but if getting in & out of that Mustang is anything like getting in & out of Bear Jr's 2008 'Vette, I'll take a pass. This old Bear just don't bend like that any more!! Ouch!!

Bear

Yep, it doesn't get much better than that, Al.
Polish your Baby, and enjoy some brewskies and saucie ribs.
I bet you may have cracked open some pickles, too... LOL!

I was always a Harley fanatic. Choppers were my passion since my teen years. I was a builder.
But I did have a 1971 Dodge Challenger for a number of years. 383 Magnum with the shaker hood scoop, 4 speed iron box. Wild ride. The Daughter and her husband have it garaged in Washington State for a retirement project.
But, Bikes or Cars, (or trucks, 4X4's, or etc), it still holds true... Faster Horses.

Thanks B! The ribs were good & the Mustang is just begging to go for a ride!!

Gorgeous, Al! That Mustang is almost as purty as those ribs!! Sounds like a great day...

Thank you, it was a good day & I'm trying to find a reason to take it out for a spin.
Al

Hey Pat, It's got a Roush Phase 2 supercharger & exhaust system overhaul. It's a six speed stick with 727 HP.
I wish I had a car like this when I was 20 years old!
Al

Sounds like one of those perfect days in FL Al. Hope its like that in three weeks when I come down to see my daughter dancing at Disney. The ride and ribs look great.

Thanks, but probably in three weeks it's gonna be starting to get into the 90's everyday, hopefully not but Spring is just about over down here.

Thanks Chris,
I appreciate the kind words!
Al

You did wrap the Mustang in foil, right?

Ha ha, good one Buddy!

I'd figure a way to get you in, or I could just let Judy take Linda for a ride. A couple of chicks in that car would turn some heads.
Remember that song "The little old lady from Pasadena"!
Go Granny Go!

Yea I have had trucks & vans my whole life, I got married to Judy when I was 20 & sold my Vette for a station wagon. I raced flat track motorcycles for a few years but never had a real fast car again. Before the Vette, I built a 55 Chevy with a 409 4 speed & when I get in my Mustang it brings back those memories. Only this Mustang would leave that Chevy in it's dust. Just 2 days ago a couple of kids came up along side of me & we were going about 45 MPH, they were in a Dodge Charger, it had a loud exhaust system, but I don't know what was under the hood. We stayed together for a couple of seconds & we both got on it. I pulled the Mustang back into 4th gear & floored it. I got some tire spin, but for the most part it hooked up real well. About 4 or 5 seconds later I look down & I'm going over 90 MPH, I look in my mirror & the Dodge is about 10 car lengths back. I let off the gas & in a minute or two he comes flying by me like a complete idiot. Still with his foot to the floor. I guess he thought I had a regular 5.0 Mustang & probably has beaten them in the past. Not this one!!!

Loving it Al.

I last built a ‘10 Camaro with heads and cam package. I had a small shot on it through a Nitro Dave plate kit and it made 720+ to the wheels, so we turned the shot down till it hit a sweet spot of 680 to the wheels.

This modern muscle stuff is just crazy! Been a BowTie family my entire life. But that Coyote engine is a beast. Then Ford tosses out the Vodoo engine! I’m gonna build a GT350 when they start recycling to 2nd owners. The Rousch packages with full factory warranty is hard to beat!

Yep, fun times. When you've got it, you've got it. Sometimes it's good to put those whipper-snappers in their place. They probably just wanted to see it walk. So they screwed with you.

When I was driving my Challenger it was a lot of fun. But it ate parts. A starter every 2 years like clockwork, U-joints arbitrarily, brakes, plugs, points, an alternator or two, clutches, Money. And rebuilt the engine. All myself.
The wife of then would do part runs when she was going into town. She finally told the guy at Mopar, "What's the heavy-est duty, most expensive part listed? That's what fits it."
And with that, she always brought home the right part.
And my alignment guy loved it. But he was a great alignment guy. He'd tell me what needed changed, I'd do it and bring it back, and he'd set it up for Wyoming's high crowned roads.
Eventually, I realized I could have built a nice bike for the maintenance money on the sled. It got garaged for a slipping clutch (#4) in Northern California. Fun while it run, though.

Enjoy your Roush! Keep the shiny side up. It sure looks tough! What a Beauty.

Hope it holds out till we leave, last time down we spent New Years Eve at Disney Springs and couldn't ask for any better weather. Humidity is what gets me anymore. As long as there's plenty of ice in my drink i'll get by. Either way i'll get to see my daughter and can't wait.

Right Al, if you had that car when you were 20 you'd probably be getting your license back about now.
I spent Saturday under my Alfa Romeo replacing the caster rod bushings. Makes an old man like me all stiff and sore in the morning. Had the wife's secret Carmalita Burritos for Cinco de Mayo dinner. (And some beers.)

Looks Great Al Mmmm !!! I was thinking ??? That Mustang needs a vacation. I'm thinking East Texas for a while.
I could even Take it out to breath, you get west of Ft. Worth the speed limit is 85, but unless you run 100 you will get run over. I was thinking I could see how fast I could go from Ft. Worth to Abilene

You got that right, the warranty is what really got me! Over 700HP and a warranty too!!

That car makes me feel like a kid again!

Usually May & November are the 2 best months down here, but when you start to get into June you start the afternoon showers & the humidity goes thru the roof. But a cold beer & some shade or A/C and you'll be fine!
Al

Ribs look awesome!

Point!

Thank you Sir!

Your probably right about the license thing, and getting down to wax the wheels did make me a little stiff & sore, but that's what beer is for, right!!

Well Gary, I'd love to take you up on that, but I'm afraid I'd be in the drivers seat, and you could ride shotgun.
And we would have to finish off the ride with some of your brisket & ribs!!
Al

Al sounds like a great day! Ribs look tastey.

Thanks Doug!
It was a good day!
Al

Sounds great Al we could that, But you would have to let me drive it just a little !!
Then we could cook up some Brisket, Ribs and whatever else we could thin of.
I haven't had a go fast car in a while
