Invest 95 is not going to bother us. It will stay in the Atlantic and most likely never see land. Not sure of the latest storm to come off of Africa. Personally right now looking at the track of gustov I would be more afraid in Louisiana to Texas.
We make it through Sept I will breath a sigh of relief. Fay dropped enough water that the surface temps of the gulf already feel a bit cooler. Our daily high temps are dropping now.
It does suck to have to worry about hurricanes but to be honest I would rather deal with wind and rain from it then deal with snow and no electricity.
Don't know where you are at V. I have family in orange park and some good friends there also. they all say they can not take much more water.trees have started falling as the ground is so soaked.
across from my dad house in St. Pete. was a historical oak tree. the state said it was the largest in the state. That tree was huge. right after Katrina it fell, the guy was lucky I guess as it only took out part of the house.
when the ole guy called the tree folks to cut it up and remove it.. he was getting threats people were driving by and cussing him thinking he was having it remove..go figure.. but it was one heck of a great oak.
LOL, I glad people from other states go to Disney. I don't think most Floridian do. I know I haven't been there since.....
I can't even remember.
Well I only put back a few things after Fay left, so not much to pick up and prepare for. Going to the store this afternoon. I did drink up all our Fay Beer supplies.
Well if it were up to me my vacation would be spent in MN canoeing and fishing, but if you see my avatar pic you might guess why we go to Disney instead.
Good thing I have not let her wrap me around her little finger.
and I believe 8/29 is katrina's birthday.. wow going to be a hard hurricane season again. stacking up like cord wood out there. wonder how many countrys that we have gave billions to will give back if we need it?
good luck you folks on the east coast and gulf area,
I have some friends trying to get MAC flights to NM to stay with me till this has blown over.
Of course if you've lived in Florida for more than a few years you should have a plan and supplies by now. I can have my house secured in an hour and have a place to go if I need to flee. I'll be keeping my eye on the storms, but unless one of these storms is baring down on us, I'm going to live day to day as normal, I'm getting tired of storm anxiety.
yea, sorry solar, my brother gets the same way. he spent over $3000.00 on hurricane shutters after the big one. he is soooo mad he had to spend that money. and is ready to leave for good if an other one comes to his area.my great grand parents, grand parents, parents unks ands aunts all lived their lives in St.Pete. and this last several years are the worst that I can recall.
