Hey all, I like to reverse sear my steaks and prime rib. Currently I smoke them low on my reqtec and then I have my pit boss cranked to 500 with open flame. I think that putting flame on them adds great flavor but it seems like a massive waste of pellets to crank the pb for just two minutes of searing. Any equipment ideas that I could use for the searing? I am looking specifically for something that can get flame directly on the meat.

If you enjoy the meat I would not worry too much about pellets. But, there are other options...a gas grill, charcoal chimney, cast iron pan, broiler etc can all be used for a quick sear.
