Just saw GFS through to the 20th has Boneless Pork butt at 1.29 a pound. They also have lent sale for fish till the end of April. 10 pounds of pollock for IIRC 24 USD.
Dang it I wish I could get prices like that. Just bought today (against my will) for $2.19 simply because I needed a thawed one quick to make some Jimmy Dean sausage for some Scottish eggs.
After Easter I expect to see prices drop around here in Norcal. Saw $1.88/lb today on shoulders, bone-in, but that's the regular price at my grocer. Where they usually have butts was stocked with hams.
I don't think the floods will impact pork prices that much directly, but people will be buying more pork due to the higher prices of beef...
But the african swine flu epidemic across the globe WILL impact prices later this year. China has admitted to loosing 13% of the pig population and knowing the chinese government, that number is likely much higher. Pork futures are up 22% since Feb. 2019....
I picked up 130# of pork butts about a month ago for $0.79/lb... Got 65# of BBB curing now and will pull that out of the cure on the 11th. I used the fat cap side for the bacon, made boudin and tasso with the other halves....
