I had the chance to stop at a meadery in Northern WI I've always enjoyed product from <Hard to find mead..but their ciders are great too!>
Well the owner happened to be there and I was asking how long he's been in business etc, and we got into talking a little Que, a little more mead..and he got me out a sample of a mead not even on the market. It was a blueberry mead with out any water involved. It was pure honey and locally picked and squeezed blueberry juice and the yeast!
It's not even properly aged yet..but it was light, slightly tart, and very refreshing! Crisp! Boy it sure pays to talk to the owner! Had a few glasses of a keg only blueberry cider they did as well. I should have asked about growlers...ahh well! A good reason to go back every year knowing they'll have it!
If you ever get a chance; I strongly advocate to try the stuff from this winery/meadery:

Oh and yes, I got mead soaked chips for my smoker.
